laughing at spilled coffee

i spilled some coffee
and it started me thinking

they said nothing of the use
of crying over spilled coffee

nobody remembers who exactly
it was that howled so passionately
over spilled milk

but i wonder if she had
ever considered that centuries later
a billion or more people
would remember so clearly
the tears she bled
and the milk in that shed

her ghost perhaps laughs
at the calamities and fuss
and how poems would be
dedicated to her loss

luckily for me
there was no milk in that
coffee
